The Senior Associate, Fund Accounting and Administration, will report to the Senior Vice President, Fund Accounting and Administration.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance, with an emphasis on agility, automation, and problem-solving. This role requires the ability to adapt quickly, streamline processes, and leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in fund accounting workflows. The Senior Associate will be instrumental in supporting the accounting and financial reporting needs of the social impact investment funds, while also contributing to innovative solutions in support of the organization’s growth.

 

 

Job Responsibilities
Fund Accounting and Administration
  • Prepare and review financial statements for the organization’s entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Analyze and report on fund performance, including dashboard creation and analytical commentary. To lead quarterly, semi-annual, and annual external financial reporting requirements.
  • Support the timely completion of annual audits and tax filings in all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Administer fund-level operational activities, including but not limited to investment management, limited partner capital calls and distributions, and fund treasury functions.
  • Forecast fund and vehicle liquidity to facilitate investment decisions and optimize cash management.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and third-party business partners for ongoing fund activities and new fund development.

Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement solutions to streamline manual processes, minimize errors, and increase the overall efficiency of the fund accounting function.

Problem Solving & Analysis: Analyze accounting trends and administrative challenges to determine effective explanations and provide actionable solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions for complex challenges. Maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement, always striving for higher levels of excellence.

 

Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational Background: A degree in a quantitative field, such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related discipline. A strong academic record (as demonstrated through GPA) or high achievement in relevant standardized testing (e.g., demonstrated through GMAT, LSAT, or equivalent).
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Solid foundation in reporting & analysis, data interpretation, and problem-solving.
  • 5+ years of experience in a role demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes in processes and technologies, and deliver results with a focus on quality and deadlines.
  • Mindset and track record of driving process automation and improving operational efficiency.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Comfort working remotely with team members across geographic locations and time zones.
  • Proactive communication style and ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel or database skills.
  • Passion for addressing the global water and sanitation crisis.
