Acre is supporting an established Consumer Goods business in their search for a Sustainability Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability, this role will take the lead on both UK-based implementation and global supply chain strategy across key sustainability pillars: ethical sourcing, human rights, and climate.
Responsibilities
Across Global Supply Chain
- Own and lead supplier sustainability initiatives, from risk assessments to onboarding and ongoing performance
- Partner on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programmes, shaping sustainability input
- Deliver resources and training for capacity building across the network
- Lead sustainability reporting: annual report, modern slavery statement, ETI reporting
- Support the strategic direction of the group’s Sustainable Future 2030 vision
Within the UK Business
- Embed the sustainability strategy across three core areas: Climate (Net Zero), Sustainable Supply, and Human Rights
- Act as the go-to sustainability expert for the UK leadership team and cross-functional workstreams
- Engage with customers on sustainability topics, i.e, RFPs, presentations and surveys
- Lead development of Scope 3/FLAG carbon reduction plans via supplier engagement with dedicated climate team
- Coordinate UK reporting requirements and contribute to global working groups
Experience & Skills
- 5+ Years of experience in the relevant sustainability roles
- Deep knowledge of supplier and supply chain management, particularly in sourcing or procurement
- Practical experience developing risk-based supplier sustainability programmes
- Strong project/programme management chops across multiple functions
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and senior leadership
- Able to interpret and work with complex data sets (Excel, reporting systems, etc.)
- A commercial mindset, able to connect sustainability initiatives to business value
Education
- Degree-qualified, ideally with a background in science, agro-science, social sciences or sustainability/environmental disciplines
