Senior ESG Programmes Manager

RECOSI

Acre is proudly supporting RECOSI with their search for a Senior ESG Programmes Manager.

RECOSI is a global membership organisation bringing together leading energy and infrastructure companies to advance responsible commodities sourcing. Through collaborative programmes, RECOSI works with its members to develop practical solutions that improve environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance across energy commodity supply chains.

With its Gas Programme moving from development into wider adoption, RECOSI is entering an important phase of growth and delivery. The organisation is seeking a commercially minded, hands-on programme leader to drive the next stage of its responsible sourcing work, building trusted relationships with members, engaging suppliers and translating ESG expectations into practical, credible solutions.

The role will primarily focus on the RECOSI Gas Programme, while contributing to the wider development of RECOSI's programmes, including Bettercoal and potential future work across other energy commodities.

The Role

Reporting closely to the CEO, the Head of ESG Programmes / Senior ESG Programmes Manager will combine programme leadership, stakeholder engagement and practical delivery. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, shaping initiatives and making things happen in a small, agile organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Programme leadership: Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of RECOSI's ESG programmes, ensuring frameworks remain credible, practical and aligned with members' needs and evolving responsible sourcing expectations.
  • Member engagement: Build trusted relationships with senior representatives across the membership, working collaboratively to shape programme priorities, support member objectives and encourage active participation.
  • Supplier engagement: Develop and deliver strategies to bring suppliers and intermediaries into RECOSI's programmes, making the case for participation and building confidence in the responsible sourcing approach.
  • External representation: Act as an ambassador for RECOSI, representing the organisation at industry events and engaging with companies, industry associations, policymakers, investors and civil society.
  • Programme development and oversight: Translate regulatory developments, stakeholder expectations and corporate sustainability commitments into practical due diligence approaches, working with external technical experts and technology partners to support delivery.
  • Team and operational leadership: Manage programme budgets, timelines and reporting, develop team members and work closely with the CEO, colleagues and member committees to ensure programmes deliver meaningful results.

The Person

RECOSI is looking for a proactive, adaptable and relationship-driven individual who can combine strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and deliver.

You will bring:

  • A strong track record in programme or project management, with experience delivering complex initiatives, managing budgets and working to agreed milestones.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the confidence to build relationships with senior corporate representatives and mobilise diverse groups around shared objectives.
  • Experience working within a membership organisation, multi-stakeholder initiative, industry association or similarly collaborative environment.
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity and connect strategic priorities with practical delivery.
  • An understanding of ESG, responsible sourcing and supply chain due diligence, including relevant regulatory developments and frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to represent an organisation externally, present to stakeholders and build a credible industry network.
  • Experience working with external consultants, technical specialists or technology providers.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the future of responsible sourcing across the energy sector. With the RECOSI Gas Programme entering a pivotal phase, you will have the scope to turn an emerging framework into an established industry initiative, working directly with leading energy companies and influencing how responsible sourcing is approached across complex global supply chains.

For someone who enjoys building programmes, bringing people together and making things happen, RECOSI offers the chance to combine strategic influence with hands-on delivery, in a small and agile organisation where your ideas, relationships and contribution can have a genuine impact.
